ABOUT THE NEW SHOW

“Interpretations” is an immersive exploration of the human form through the artistic lens of David Brown. This month-long exhibition showcases a captivating fusion of life drawings and 3D encaustic corrugation wall sculptures, inviting viewers on a visual journey through movement, emotion, and interpretation.
At the heart of the exhibition lies David’s charcoal life drawings, crafted with precision and passion from live nude models. These drawings, simplified and abstracted in nature, capture the essence of the model’s gesture, body, mood, and emotions. Each sketch serves as a testament to the timeless tradition of life drawing, offering viewers a glimpse into the artist's interpretation of the human form.
Building upon the foundation of these expressive life drawings, David takes artistic interpretation to new heights with his encaustic wall sculptures. These three-dimensional creations offer a modern and dynamic portrayal of the human figure, presented in fractured geometric forms that evoke fluid motion and dynamic energy. Each sculpture is a testament to the artist’s dedication to exploring the boundaries of form, space, and interpretation.
Through “Interpretations,” David aims to challenge traditional notions of life drawing by transforming stylized sketches into contemporary architectural sculptures. By bridging the gap between observation and interpretation, the exhibition invites viewers to embark on a thought-provoking journey of artistic discovery and exploration.
Join us as we celebrate the beauty, complexity, and endless possibilities of the human form in “Interpretations: From Life Drawings to Abstract Sculptures.”
